Since starting Hellz in 2005, I’ve done various interviews giving people an insight on me, Hellz, why and how I do what I do. One of the questions that I’m always asked is, “Why did you start Hellz and how does it feel to be a women in the “streetwear” market?”

I often describe my experience working at a previous company and being unable to have the creative freedom to design what I thought as an art director, was best for the company therefore I decided to do me rather than continue to work for “the man” BUT another huge reason was because I couldn’t find anything in the market that I could relate to so all I wanted to wear were Bam’s Stussy tees.

As a graphic designer, I was always drawn to Stussy men’s graphic tees. Specifically, the Stussy World Tour Series cuz I loved seeing the versions done by my favorite artists/graphic designers, such as Futura, Tet, Kaws, Taka, Cartoon, Haze, Elms & Espo. I always wished that someday, maybe someday I’d be able to be the first female or even just one of the artist that were chosen to do a tee for the series.

Then one day something even better than what I wished for happened… Wendy (Nitrolicous) hooked my up w/ Brynn (Stussy) and we talked about doing some tees which later turned into a whole capsule. Almost a year later, after all our hard work and love for the brand that started it all (that’s Stussy, of course, lol), I now I would like to present a sneak peak into the collection which consists of a jacket, crop pant, fashion top, tunic hoodie, 2 graphic tees & bag.
