She Keeps on Passin’ Me By – Pt 1

One-Two- Three-Four.
Ok, she definitely looked at me for four seconds. Thats longer than a regular glance which means she’s looking at me on purpose. ON PURPOSE. God, she’s kind of beautiful. She looks up at me again and immediately looks down. She is looking at me on purpose. I smile.
I wonder what her name is? I wonder what her voice sounds like. I wonder if she’s funny? I want to go talk to her. I should go talk to her. I’m going to go talk to her.
Just say Hi. Hello. Smile. Wave. Be Cool. Be Normal.
One-Two-Three-Four-Five
She’s looking at me again! Smile, damnit, smile!
I check my reflection in the mirror and wonder why my smile looks more like a sneer. Is that supposed to be my sexy, causal smile? No WONDER I’m single.
I glance over her way again. She’s sweaty, has no makeup on, and kind of has a really large forehead. And she’s still the prettiest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. Why have I never seen her here before? I wonder what she looks like on a regular day outside the gym… WAIT. Did she just smile at me? I think she just smiled at me. I catch my reflection in the mirror again and I too, and smiling ear to ear. Now that’s more like it.
“Noah,” I hear my friend call my name after class is done. “Lets go, man I’m starved.”
“Alright then. Hold on real quick,” I reply.
I turn and look back to where she was to hopefully wave goodbye, but its too late. She’s gone. Maybe next time.
“I guess a twinkle in her eye is just a twinkle in her eye. “

Can I just say, that this is my favorite short story to date? I can’t wait for u guys to read the rest. CANNOT WAIIITTT. gah!
