Update 3:45 EDT 6/30/2021: After a short delay due to weather problems, SpaceX managed to launch the Transporter-2 mission on Wednesday. While the second stage Rocket entered the nominal parking orbit, the first stage returned safely back to the landing zone along the Florida coast. This is the 20th launch of the company this year, the rhythm of one mission every nine days.
Update 12:15 PM EDT 6/30/2021: SpaceX is preparing, again, to launch Falcon 9 rocket which carries 88 small satellites for various customers. The 58-minute launch window for the Transporter-2 mission is opened at 2:56 EDT (18:56 UTC) on Wednesday.
No one was made officially, but some sources reported that the scrub Tuesday was only 11 seconds before the elevator was triggered by a charter helicopter that brought tourists in the “Keep” zone for launch. Webcast for launching today, embedded below, must start about 15 minutes before the window opens.
Update 3 PM EDT Tuesday Update: The countdown clock to T-11 seconds on Tuesday afternoon before SpaceX is called holding for the launch of the transporter-2 travel mission. The scrub was required by the problem of the range caused by the aircraft in the launch zone. The company will now reverse the vehicle for other launch efforts on Wednesday afternoon.
The founder of SpaceX Elon Musk is not happy with the situation.
Original post 6/29/2021: SpaceX is preparing to launch a mission sharing a second dedicated trip for Falcon 9 rocket, named Transporter-2, from the Cape Canaveral Space Room Station on Tuesday afternoon.
The mission will bring a total of 88 small satellites from various customers, including private companies such as Iceye and Umbra, as well as the US Government Room Development Agency.
Part of the Department of Defense, the space development agency seeks to advance the ability of the nation to get its satellites into space in a timely manner and effectively. The agency launched five satellites on the transporter-2 mission at a cost of around $ 21 million.
“This figure represents extraordinary value for the government for four satellites and cargo,” said a spokesman for agency. “Incrualed information collected from this experiment will far exceed monetary investment made in advance when we start laiding the foundation for national. Defense space architecture.”
SpaceX developed a Share-Share program for Falcon 9 rocket to increase the amount of pure commercial launch carried out by the workhorse amplifier. The company advertises access to Sun Synchronous orbit only with $ 1 million for 200 kg. SpaceX plans to launch travel sharing missions like every four months, depending on request.
Travel sharing services offered by SpaceX – which have orbital rocket in the world, can only be reused in Falcon 9 – helping the company fill in the manifest. This program also utilizes the Spacex investment that is included in the development. Tuesday’s launch efforts will fly to orbit in the first stage that has been flying seven times. Warning for the first rocket flights is Wednesday.
However, spacex expansion into a small satellite launch has provided great pressure on other companies that develop small rockets to send satellites to orbits. These companies can offer special launches to certain orbits, but the service comes at a price. For example, rocket electron rocket lab can provide around 300 kg to low Earth orbit at a price of around $ 7.5 million. Virgin orbit launcherone can provide synchronous orbits of up to 500 kg for around $ 15 million. However, none of these vehicles can offer the reliability of Falcon 9, which has more than 100 successive success launches.
Weather conditions look profitable for Tuesday’s launch efforts, which have a launch window that is almost an hour open at 14:56 ET (18:56 UTC). Booster will return to the launch site instead of making drone landing because of the fuel capacity on the board
