The first inclination I had that  I (still) wasn’t the only one came a few weeks later.   While hangin’ out at my house, he used my phone to call her. 

He used my phone to call her. He used MY phone.  To call HER. 

I no longer remember what for, but at the time it wasn’t that big a deal.   After he hung up with her, he then began to tell me how she wanted the phone number.. she wanted to talk to me.. she wanted the address so she could come and kick my ass.    I laughed and brushed it off.  She can talk till she’s blue in the face but at the end of the day, he was still with me.  

“Why be proud of being his main when you should be his only?”    I was proud because I thought I was.  

One night not long after that, I got a phone call.   Its his best friend and his girlfriend.  Weird.   We’ve gotten along really well but not to the point to have normal phone conversations, especially a three-way-call.   

Me “Whats up?”
Bromance “Hey.  We need to tell you something.”
HisGirl “He’s seeing ExGirlfriend again.”
Bromance “We thought you were different.  That he would be different with you.”
HisGirl “But she has some sort of hold on him that he just can’t shake.  We wanted to tell you tho, because we really like you and don’t want to see you get hurt.”

Too late.  

4 days, 10 fights and endless tears later, he was back at my house asking me not to leave him.   We got back together with the agreement that he would stop seeing her and I would stop,well…  being me.  I sang too much, danced too hard, laughed too often, did this, did that.  All of that would stop.  Seems as though that’s what drove him away.  And being the young naive girl that I was, I complied. 

“He lied.  She Believed. ”   but its ok, cuz I felt I won the battle.   I WIN.  for now.
